“A hymn to nature” this is how the artist Floortje Louise named one of her photography projects. We all are constantly going through changes in life.. And thats exactly what she tells about. She tells about the life cycle, the infinity and the spiritual meaning of the seasons. Poetic, tender and peaceful, that’s what we felt when we first saw her paintings. We didn’t want to withhold that from you. We met Floortje and spoke about her art, about the key to ourselves, her beliefs, the meaning of nature and its core message.
It’s time. Suddenly we come to an age where baby swimming, our households and everyone’s wedding becomes our the topics of conversation. I think it’s actually called growing up. And yes, somehow I get to this age where I’m slowly thinking about it. And the more time passes, the more I observe and talk to recent mothers. Everyone says the same thing. Birth is an overwhelming experience, an inexplicable miracle. Sometimes it just seems to me that women are lonely or overwhelmed and need support. More than a midwife can give. This is exactly what a Doula is for. Someone who has an open ear for worries and fears and also supports in the household a bit. For me an absolute must in my future pregnancy. We met with Laurie, a very special Doula from Berlin and wanted to learn more about her and this exciting profession.
“Besides love at first sight, there is also love at first touch. And maybe it goes even deeper,” at least that’s what Vladimir Nabokov once said. That touch is special, we know. It can cause goose bumps and have a magical effect on us, especially when it comes from our loved ones. But can touch also have a healing effect on us? And is touch even vital for our survival? Dr. Böhme examines touch and physical closeness in Sweden and was able to tell us more about it.
Self-love. Now on everyone’s lips. But what exactly does that mean, to be in harmony with yourself and your body? Can one really make peace with one’s mind? Our interview guest Silja Janina M. is a bit closer to reach it. She is a yoga and meditation teacher and has found a bit more enlightenment with the help of the Kundalini teachings and her free spirit. We talked to Silja about Kundalini Yoga, healthy body and mind consciousness and nudity. Yes, you heard me!
Of course, we all know how essential it is to breathe. Essential for survival. But did you also know that trauma and inner blockages can be solved by breathing? “Biodynamic Breath is a holistic method for releasing mental and physical blockages.” At least that’s what Michael Lindemann, expert for Biodynamic Breathwork, says. In fact, special breathing techniques can have opening and cathartic effects. Clearly, we want to know more about this and ask Michael about it.
There are many ways to express yourself. Some do it through words, others through art, dance, movement or music … So many ways to speak, so many ways to be heard or seen. All poetry, in our opinion. Do you have any idea what intuition, yoga and art have in common? Today we find out!
Es gibt viele Wege sich auszudrücken. Wir machen es über Worte, andere über Kunst, Tanz, Bewegung oder Musik … So viele Arten zu sprechen, so viele Möglichkeiten gehört oder gesehen zu werden. Alles Poesie, in unseren Augen. Habt ihr eine Idee was Intuition, Yoga und Kunst gemeinsam haben.. Heute lösen wir es auf!
Each German produces around 100 Kilograms of garbage a year. Each discounter disposes of around 45 kilograms of edible food every day. We don’t intend to preach a sermon, we all know that we have to change something. Especially in Berlin, a strong movement in a sustainable Lifestyle is emerging: Green Markets, Second Hand Clothes and refill, plastic-free Shops. But what about the rest of the world? We met Be a Johnson. Bea and her family live in San Francisco and only dispose of one hand(!) of garbage a year. In the meantime she has already convinced thousands on Television, as a Speaker and published several books. She and her method is unique! How can this work? We thought. She told us everything!
Phobias: “A strong feeling of fear that occurs in certain situations or is triggered by the sight of certain things, and increasingly restricts the person affected.” At least that’s how Google describes it. Omniscient. As always. I’m still a long way from being that far. I still have no idea what to expect. One click and I open a list. 70 phobias, sorted alphabetically. Roughly scroll down. I am astonished, how many different ones there are. Fear of height, of depth, of noise, of one’s own reflection, of pain, of touch, of spiders, of numbers, of technology or even of men. Well, the latter three are absolutely comprehensible to me. We all have to deal with fears in our everyday lives. We can’t avoid it. Sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes stronger or weaker. Part of our lives in a healthy environment. We receive signals to be attentive and careful in extraordinary situations. A basic instinct that tells us to protect ourselves from danger.
Transgender, Queer, Non Binary is a big topic right now. But actually it was always present, society was just not ready to talk about it before. Do we really feel comfortable and right in our body since birth? We meet Lotty. Lotty is a pensioner, transsexual and a woman for 16 years. The desire to be a woman was already present in her childhood but that was clearly not easy to realize. We meet her and quickly realize that both she and her story are very exciting.
